"I'll never forget him for that"

A mother whose five-year-old son had to be transferred to hospital via air ambulance last July has this week described her gratitude for the crew, and in particular flight sergeant Val Murray from Edenderry.

Athlone native Jessica McCann’s son Shaun fell at the family home on the Roscommon/Mayo border, and was transferred to Galway University Hospital by air ambulance.

“I will never forget Val Murray in the house,” Jessica said, reliving the day. “He put his hand around my shoulder and said 'Don’t worry, we’ll look after him’. I’ll never forget him for that.”
