St. Brigid"s GAA Notes Leinster U21 FC Offaly U21s suffered a heavy defeat at the hands of Westmeath last Saturday in O"Connor Park Tullamore on Saturday last, final score being 0-19 to 0-8. On the team was local clubman Ken Casey. Membership Club Membership now due - family €25, adult €15 and student €5, membership can be paid to John Cocoman/Enda Egan. New members always welcome. Senior Football Championship Draw 2009 Group 1: Shamrocks, Ballycumber, Rhode, Shannonbridge. Group 2: Tullamore, Edenderry, Tubber, Ferbane. Group 3: Gracefield, Clara, St Brigid"s, Erin Rovers. St. Brigid"s are drawn in Group 2 in the Junior B Championship - with Ballycommon, Durrow, Kinnitty and Rhode. Dinner Dance Keep March 21st free as the Club is hosting their Dinner Dance on that night in the Bloomfield House Hotel. As part of the celebrations the Presentation of the Intermediate Medals will take place, as will a special presentation to the Centenary Champions of 1984. Tickets cost €50. Music provided by Bog the Donkey - a great night is guaranteed. National Football League Division 3 In round two of the League Offaly Senior Footballers will entertain Longford in O"Connor Park, Tullamore next Sunday February 15th at 2.30pm. Offaly Camogie Notes Junior Game Postponed Again Offaly Junior team were due to play Armagh on Sunday last in Lusmagh. As last week"s game was cancelled against Dublin due to a flooded pitch, it was very disappointing that Sunday"s game had to be cancelled due to a snow covered pitch. This will cause problems for the organising committee as these two games will have to be refixed. Training will continue for the pane on Friday night and Sunday mornings in Crinkle at usual times. Congratulations Well done to the Under-16 camogie team from St Brendan"s Community School who won the Leinster final on Saturday last. This is great news for Offaly camogie to have another Leinster title to add to many other successful teams over the years. Ferbane GAA Notes FIXTURE Under-21 Football Championship first round: Wheery v Gracefield tonight (Friday) at 8pm in Pullough. WEDDING BELLS Congratulations and best wishes for a long and happy life together to last year"s senior football Manager Liam Cullinane & Sandra Fitzgerald who celebrated their nuptials in fine style on Friday last. The happy couple are currently honeymooning in Dubai. LOTTO The numbers drawn in this week"s (February 10th) lotto draw were 15, 16, 19, 23 & bonus number 13. There was no jackpot winner but Michael Melia Jnr matched three numbers and won €200. Denis Kelly won the promoter"s prize. Erin Rovers GAA Notes Club Night The Club enjoyed a very successful club night in Gallagher"s on Saturday night last. Frankie Kenna and Alan Lynam were presented with their respective player of the year awards while the Club made a special presentation to Jackie Delaney for his outstanding contribution over the years. He was also given lifetime membership and was joined by all his family and friends. Thanks to everyone for attending.
