Three legged dog hitches train ride to Clara!
Three-legged Jack Russell 'Seamie' from the Curragh in Kildare ended up in Clara earlier this month, after apparently hopping aboard a train!
Fortunately Seamie's 'ruff' journey ended happily, after Moate and Midlands Dog Rescue (MMDR) got on the case at the beginning of last week.
'We put an appeal on Facebook looking for the owners and it got loads of comments,' Maria Drinan of MMDR explained. 'People started saying they had seen her on a train on Thursday, July 31. I shared her photo on every dog rescue page I could think of and - lo and behold - it turned out she was from Kildare!'
It's believed the dog got on the train in Kildare, and either got off or was taken off at the station in Clara.
A sister of the dog's owner, who was holidaying in America with his wife and family at the time, ended up spotting the posts about Seamie online, and got in touch with MMDR.
Seamie and his owners were reunited in Moate last Tuesday.
