Mustang celebrates birthday at midland show
Once again this year the Midland American Auto Club is gearing up to host upwards of 400 American vehicles at the largest gathering of American cars, trucks and bikes in all of Ireland at its annual All-Americal Car, Truck and Bike Show.
The event is happening this Sunday, April 27 at grounds opposite Kilbeggan Racecourse just miles from Offaly. This year’s show is expected to feature many Mustangs, with the brand celebrating 50 years this month.
“We add more to the show each year,” club chairman Joe Keenan said this week.
“The main feature this year is we’ve upped the prize money for the burnout competition to €500. We will also be re-running the big rig tug-o-war with two American big rig trucks pulling a car apart. It proved hugely popular last year.”
Not just for car-owners, lots of entertainment is laid on to make the Kilbeggan event one for everyone.
“We’re very conscious that the show is both for American vehicle owners and for the public who come to attend so we try to give them as much entertainment as possible,” club PRO Nick Stratta explained.
“Having an actual ride down the road in a big truck, muscle car or a Cadillac or Lincoln is a big thing for many. The people who did it last year said it was amazing.”
Show admission is €10 per adult, with free entry for children under 14.
