Tullamore parade line-up includes six bands already
Six bands have already been confirmed and preparations are well underway for this year’s St Patrick’s Day parade in Tullamore.
That’s according to secretary and PRO of the Tullamore parade committee Sean O’Brien, who outlined that the parade will begin from the Bridge Centre car park at 11.30am on the day.
“We are delighted to already have six major Bands confirmed,” he said this week. “As well as Tullamore Town Band and St Colmcille’s Pipe Band we will also have Mullingar Town Band, Clara Town Band, the Ravens Band from Athlone and St Brigid’s Pipe Band from Athy.”
The theme for this year’s parade is “The Best Of Tullamore”.
“We want to celebrate all that is good in Tullamore in community organisations, voluntary groups, sport, history, music, arts, education, youth and culture,” Cllr O’Brien said.
“We want all groups to take part in the parade and really show Tullamore at its best. We are so lucky to have so many organisations in Tullamore and such great facilities and the parade gives everyone a chance to showcase all that is good.”
Entry to the parade is free to all community groups and organisations and as usual there will be excellent cash prizes for all category winners.
