Edenderry radio station airs today
Excitement abounds in Edenderry today (Friday), as its first community radio station is launched.
YAG FM goes on air at noon today at 102.5FM, after being officially opened by Offaly footballer Niall McNamee.
Made possible thanks to a temporary licence, the station will broadcast for the next eight days, a further seven days at the beginning of next December and five days over mid-March 2015.
Programmes lined up for YAG FM from now until this day week include 'Edenderry Rocks with Nathalie’, 'Back to the 80s’, 'The Daily Dose with Colm Daly’, 'Edenderry History’, 'Good Morning Edenderry’ and 'The Wednesday Whinge’.
Programmes will be broadcast from 9am until 9pm, with music broadcast in between. A 60 second community notice board will run every second hour on the station.
