First Eucharistic Adoration Assembly event held in Tullamore
The Meath Diocesan Adoration Committee have planned three Eucharistic Assemblies with the same programme in three different locations in the diocese to enable all weekly adorers to attend and be inspired, affirmed, and nourished spiritually.
The first was held recently in Tullamore to a packed conference room.
Bishop Michael Smith attended, as well as priests, religious and hundreds of lay people from the 15 parishes around that area.
Fr Joe Gallagher PP of Tullamore welcomed everybody and said the opening prayer.
The Assembly started with rosary at 9.30 am and finished at 5 pm
The day was broken up very well with, prayer, talks, reflections, PowerPoint presentations, testimonies, music, details of the Pope’s visit and plans for WMOF2018, and Holy Mass.
Bishop Smith delivered the opening address and many people commented positively about the variety of topics and speakers, both lay and clerical, and were very enthused and excited with what they heard.
The Council Fathers at Vatican II insisted that the Christian life is incomplete if it is not Eucharistic.
It is Holy Adoration that can give a clearer grasp of the transformative power of this Eucharistic relationship with God, and through Him, to our neighbour.
It is natural for the group called The Meath Diocesan Adoration Committee, devoted as they are to our Eucharistic adoration charism, to desire to help in every way possible with the strengthening and expansion of Adoration in all parishes.
The theme for the three Assemblies is Mission 'Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying; Who should I send? Who will go for us? I said: Here I am . Send Me” Is 6:8
The Meath Diocesan Adoration Committee is so grateful for all the support received for this Assembly from Bishop Michael Smith and the priests of the diocese of Meath, members of the Diocesan Committee and members of the Tullamore Adoration Committee, as well as the people in Tullamore and the surrounding parishes who turned up in such vast numbers.
