Age & Opportunity to host online exercise classes for older people
In an effort to keep people moving during the coronavirus crisis, an organisation dedicated to the welfare of older people has organised live exercise classes on their Facebook page.
Age & Opportunity will host two live movement sessions for older people tomorrow,Thursday, March 19 and Friday, March 20 at 11am. The two 15-minute broadcasts will consist of one seated activity session and one standing activity session, which can be accessed on the Age & Opportunity Facebook page: www.facebook.com/AgeandOpportunity
The organisation says it is very important for older people to incorporate some physical activity into their daily routine. This is particularly important for those who are self-isolating and are unable to engage in any of the activities or classes that they would normally attend
The two live movement sessions will be available on the Age & Opportunity Facebook page, so people will have a chance to re-watch them and continue practicing their exercises over the coming weeks until they are able to return to their normal routine.
Age & Opportunity provides a range of opportunities for older people who want to become more involved in arts and culture, sport and physical activity, civic engagement and personal development. They reach approximately 120,000 older people all over the country and their aim is to inspire people aged 50+ to live a dynamic life in which they are more active, more visible, more creative and more connected.
