Offaly entries sought for battle of bands

Offaly bands are being encouraged to contest a new battle of the bands competition. Karma in Athlone"s AIR (alternative, indie and rock) night takes place one a month is set to spark the battle of all battles with a "Head to Head" battle of the bands competition! Starting on August 5th the competition will run for five months with bands being given the chance to play in Karma on their AIR nights, the first Wednesday of every month and show if they are the best new upcoming alternative, indie or rock group The winners will receive studio recording time in well known Grouse Lodge recording studios (the late Michael Jackson recorded here) a live gig in Karma, €250 worth of clothing from Conspiracy in Athlone Towncentre and vouchers from the Sound Factory in Athlone and the Athlone School of Music. 'We are delighted to launch this competition with incredible sponsors and expert judges in the music field.
