McDonalds in Tullamore gets go ahead for major upgrade works

McDonalds in Tullamore has been granted permission for a series of major upgrades to its Church Road restaurant.

Plans for the project involve both internal and external upgrades, including a new internal window shutter adding to aesthetics of the restaurant with a view to enhancing the customer experience.

Other works set to take place include the expansion of their drive-thru lane, which will require new road markings, landscaping including outdoor furniture/seating area, additional bicycle parking, as well as the relocation of existing remote bin store.

The project will also see the relocation and upgrade of existing signage including sky sign, new dual ordering configuration with devices and bollards, and new lighting at the site.

The existing McDonald’s restaurant has been in place since the early 1990s, serving Tullamore and the wider area, and it is noted in the plans "the proposed improvement works to this established restaurant will better align with modern operations".

Offaly County Council has granted permission with seven conditions attached.
