RG Snyman happy to be fit and firing for Leinster's run in

Leinster second row RG Snyman says he is happy to be fit for Leinster's run in as they aim to end their quest for silverware.

Four years since last winning silverware in 2021, Snyman was signed alongside All Black Jordie Barrett and France prop Rabah Slimani in the province's aim for a fifth European Cup.

Having signed from arch rivals Munster, his time at the province was heavily disrupted by injury.

However, the World Cup winner has been fit and firing in blue, and is looking forward to playing a key part for Leinster at a vital stage of the season.

"It is a great feeling to roll over week to week and be available on the weekends and be part of the team", says Snyman.

"That is ultimately why I enjoy playing rugby is being part of a team and running out every weekend.

"Honesty, I am having so much fun and it is a really enjoyable season for me. I just want to play. It is about understanding your role in the team and working towards a greater goal.

"For me, I know going into a game, whether it is off the bench or in the starting jersey, I know I am going to get good minutes. I just want to get out there."

Snyman started for Leinster on Saturday as they sent a statement out to the rest of Europe with 62-0 demolition of Harlequins in Croke Park.

Awaiting them in the Aviva Stadium on Friday night is URC champions Glasgow, who know what it takes to win away from hope in knockout games.

Should Leinster win, they will be at home to the winners of Northampton or Casters, with a fourth successive final in May in Cardiff.

Combine this with Leinster top of the URC, Snyman says the squad is in a good place.

Years of heartbreak and the finest of margins have prevented the province from winning their fifth crown, but the World Cup winner insists they cannot look past the challenge Glasgow will provide.

"Momentum is definitely something we spoke about going into last weekend's game. I think the squad split up a little bit, guys going over to South Africa and doing a good job over there.

"The guys feed off that who didn't go over. We are definitely in a good spot, but there is still a lot of work for us to do, and we certainly know that.

"Glasgow is a classy team, and they have a lot of players who can do the job and play the game really well. They are a well-coached side as well.

"We will have to do our prep this week and get into them over the weekend."
