Local schools to compete in final of Lego League Challenge
A number of local schools are preparing to compete in final of the Lego League Challenge this weekend.
Taking place in Dublin on April 12, the final will see two teams from Tullamore College, and one each from St Colman’s National School, Mucklagh, in Tullamore, the Sacred Heart School Tullamore, and Colaiste Naomh Cormac in Kilcormac competing in the competition.
The annual tournament theme this year is SUBMERGED, and among the fun challenges are robot games and an oceanic research project, as young participants use LEGO technology to bring fresh ideas to the surface and ‘sea’ into the future!
A total of 273 teams of young engineers around Ireland have contested FIRST LEGO League SUBMERGED tournaments since last September, and top regional performers will now contest the Ireland Final. The ultimate winners will take their place representing Ireland at an international tournament next summer.
