Oaklands Camogie team wins League shield final
The Oaklands Camogie team had a fantastic day at Kilcock GAA recently where they won the Shield final of their league.
Oaklands had a convincing win over Scoil Mhuire, Longford in the semi final to progress to the final which was played against Ballymakenny College, Drogheda.
In a tough and physical game, the girls combined skill and determination to emerge worthy winners of the Shield competition.
This year has seen large numbers of new girls taking up the sport of camogie for the first time including Oaklands Spanish exchange students. The growing popularity of the sport is a testament to all the hard work taking place in the local clubs of Edenderry and Broadford.
