Music acts including Self Esteem, The Chats, and SexyTadhg have announced Irish gigs for this year.
Self Esteem
Ahead of her third studio album 'A Complicated Woman', and alongside the release of her latest single ‘If Not Now, It’s Soon’; British musician and songwriter Self Esteem has announced her biggest UK and Irish Tour to date for this autumn.
The tour includes a show in Dublin's 3Olympia Theatre on September 24th, 2025.
Tickets will be on sale for €33.65/€39.20/€44.20 on Friday.
‘If Not Now It’s Soon’ was partly inspired by Taylor’s years before her rise to fame – a time of hypersexuality, booze and self-destruction that precipitated the creation of Self Esteem.
“You wonder who it was who made the choices in that town”, she sings, questioning her treatment of herself, while actress - and friend - Julie Hesmondalgh gives a call to arms: “Something will happen because it’s got to - it’s not just perseverance we need, it’s patience.”
It is about marrying the two things, Taylor explains: “Personally, you have to wait and one day you’ll get somewhere less painful. But the world will hopefully get somewhere less painful too. It’s about hope, perseverance and patience!”
Described by the Guardian as “her best yet”, 'A Complicated Woman' contains all Taylor’s musical thumbprints – complex thought processes unfolding in real time, an effortless knack of exposing the feelings women are required to labour under – but set on a larger, brighter landscape that is nothing short of exhilarating.
The Chats
Described as a post-millennial punk-rock group, The Chats have announced two headline shows at The Academy, Dublin on Tuesday, August 19th, and Wednesday, August 20th, 2025.
The trio, originally formed in Australia’s self-explanatory resort Sunshine Coast, are a once-in-a-generation band who reconnect popular music with its roots in ultra-raw rock ‘n’ roll.
Tickets for the group's Irish gigs will be on sale for €33.65 on Wednesday.
Most people know the trio for their 2017 breakthrough banger, ‘Smoko’.
SexyTadhg
Singer-songwriter and fashion designer SexyTadhg has announced a headline show in The Academy in Dublin for Friday, November 21st, 2025.
Tickets will go on sale on Wednesday from €18.45 on Ticketmaster.ie.
SexyTadhg is currently on an 18-date tour across the UK supporting The Mary Wallopers.
Speaking on the show, SexyTadhg said: "The scale of this production can only be reached in a venue like The Academy. The best venues elevate an artist's performance and allow the audience to be fully immersed in their vision. Dublin is where SexyTadhg's dream was born, and I'm just so excited for the people who've supported me from the beginning to experience the dream in its highest form yet."
“On Friday, Nov 21st, The Academy will be the gayest place in Ireland. Get your drag on, girl, and get down to the ultimate celebration of Irish queer artistry.
"This is a huge win for the girls, the gays, the queers, and the queens. This is bigger than one performer; this is the Irish queer community rightfully taking its place in the Irish music industry. This is not just a gig; this is history.”
SexyTadhg was previously heralded as one of The Irish Times '50 to Watch' for 2024.
They have been described as "an intergalactic rock star” by Gay Community News (GCN).
Sleeper
Britpop group Sleeper have announced a headline show at The Academy, Dublin, for November 29th, 2025.
The show is part of their 'Inbetweener' greatest hits tour, which celebrates 30 years of their classic single and top-5 debut album 'Smart'.
Pre-sale tickets for the show go on sale on Tuesday from MCD, while general sale will take place on Wednesday.
Sleeper enjoyed huge critical and commercial success in the mid-90s with their debut album ‘Smart’ reaching number 5 in the UK album charts.
The band went on to achieve eight Top 40 singles across three Top 10 albums with well over 1,000,000 sales.
They garnered front covers across the music press and appeared numerous times on key music shows of the time; including Top Of The Pops; an episode of which Louise Wener presented.
