Accessible Counselling Tullamore awarded PTSB Community Fund initiative support

Accessible Counselling Tullamore (ACT) has expressed its gratitude for the "unwavering support" of the local public after securing a donation from the PTSB Community Fund initiative.

PTSB launched a public vote for its Community Funding Programme 2025 with a commitment to provide financial support to communities across Ireland.

The public vote closed on March 14 with ACT being announced as one of the successful community funding recipients.

A social media post from ACT commended the "unwavering support" received which enabled "this incredible achievement" to be realised.

"Thank you to everyone who took the time to vote and to share our posts and to our wonderful committee for all their hard work canvassing.

"Thank you to our local PTSB branches for nominating ACT and for recognising the vital work we do.

"This fund will help us continue to provide accessible, professional, and affordable mental health support to those who need it most. It will allow us to reach even more people, ensuring that no one in our community has to struggle alone.

"To all our followers, you’ve shown once again what a brilliant and supportive community we have. Together, we are making a real difference," the ACT social media post stated.

The news was welcomed by Fianna Fáil TD, Tony McCormack, who lauded the community effort enabling the service to receive vital financial support.

"Great to hear that ACT has won the competition to receive funding from PTSB. This was a huge community effort, and the dedication shown in encouraging us all to vote for ACT was truly incredible.

"ACT provides an essential service to the people of Offaly and beyond, and this funding will make a real difference. While this is a well-deserved boost, I will continue to push for government funding to ensure their vital work can continue and expand.

"Well done to everyone involved—this is a win for the entire community," the TD said.
