Offaly manager David Sullivan will be hoping Clodagh Leahy is fit to start the county's crucial clash with Carlow in Banagher on Saturday afternoon.

Offaly aim to secure place in Division 2A camogie league final

Offaly will hope to secure their place in the Very Ireland Division 2A camogie league final when they host Carlow in Banagher on Saturday, throw-in, 1pm.

Boasting three successive league wins to date, the Faithful County are brimming with confidence having achieved a hard earned win over Meath in their previous competitive encounter.

In that particular game, they spurned numerous goal scoring opportunities before sealing a three point win come the shrill of the final whistle.

With comprehensive victories secured in their opening two league games, a more evenly matched fixture will sharpen the players' minds prior to this weekend's tussle.

Team manager David Sullivan has to contend with a number of injuries to key players and should he not be able to start a full strength team knows that there is depth within the squad to replace absentees.

Carlow, who are currently placed fourth in the group, narrowly lost to Derry in their opening fixture, before defeating Armagh. In their third outing they suffered a home loss to Kerry, but they are certain to give of their all in Banagher.

The teams met in the league last year when Offaly proved to be far too strong on that occasion, the final score reading 5-13 to 1-7 in favour of The Faithful County.

A fourth successive league win secures Offaly that important league final berth, a fixture which will be played in Semple Stadium, Thurles on April 13.
