Double celebration as Gareth completes 150th parkrun on his 50th birthday!
Gareth Madden had a double celebration recently at the Mountlucas parkrun in Offaly, when he reached the milestone of his 150th parkrun on the day of his 50th birthday.
His wife Michelle, and daughters Clíona and Sinead, were in attendance to mark the occasion. They brought a variety of baked goods with them which were shared with other parkrun attendees. Baked goods were supplied by Ali's Kitchen, located not far from Mountlucas.
Gareth, who is a strong runner and mountain biker, has been a regular at Mountlucas parkrun since it commenced in 2017. In fact, all but one of his 150 parkruns were completed at Mountlucas parkrun.
It was a happy coincidence that he completed his 150th parkrun on his 50th birthday.
As well as being a regular at Mountlucas parkrun, Gareth has also played a key part in the organisation and running of the event by volunteering at Mountlucas parkrun on an amazing 39 occasions to date.
Mountlucas parkrun cannot continue without the support and contribution of volunteers, so many thanks to Gareth for his ongoing contribution. The volunteer team wish him well on his birthday and his 150th parkrun.
Mountlucas parkrun is a free weekly timed event held at Bord na Móna Mountlucas wind farm every Saturday morning at 9.30am sharp.
