Accessible Counselling Tullamore remembers founder James O'Connor on his second anniversary

Accessible Counselling Tullamore (ACT) has shared a moving tribute to its founder, James O'Connor, on the second anniversary of his passing.

James, from Knockowen Rd, Tullamore, died peacefully, in his sleep, on March 17, 2023.

A businessman who ran the successful company Fititout.ie, James was a prominent mental health campaigner and was named Offaly Person of the Year in 2021.

A James O'Connor Memorial Walk has taken place in Tullamore as a fundraiser for ACT on each of the last two years.

In a post on social media earlier today, Accessible Counselling Tullamore shared the following poem as a tribute to James:

Two years have passed, yet still we feel,

The empty space where you once healed.

Your gentle words, your steady grace,

Still linger softly in this place.

A heart that cared for every soul,

A hand that helped to make us whole.

You gave your all, with love so pure,

A legacy that will endure.

Though you’re not here to light the way,

Your spirit guides us every day.

In every step, in all we do,

We carry forth the dream of you.

We miss you, James, more than words can say,

But in our hearts, you’ll always stay.

Your light, your love, they’ll never part—

Forever rooted in our hearts.
