Tullamore students to represent Offaly in Junk Kouture final

Sacred Heart School Tullamore students Roisin Berry and Fiadh Connelly are set to represent Offaly in Junk Kouture final following their success at the regional finals.

The dress titled 'Field of Dreams' was selected as a finalist at an event which took place in The Helix, Dublin last week.

The design is crafted from meal bags and green silage netting, highlighting sustainability while raising awareness of mental health struggles in the farming community.

The green netting symbolises suicide awareness, and the intricate cabling, inspired by Aran knitting, pays tribute to traditional Irish craftsmanship.

The dress also features a Triskelion-inspired bow, representing loneliness and the need for mental health support.

A date has not yet been confirmed for the finals, however it has been suggested that they will take place sometime in May in Dublin.

The local qualifier is among 60 who will chase ten spots in the World Final.

The 2025 Junk Kouture competition in Ireland has 1,200 entries.
