Offaly aim for third successive win as camogie league campaign continues
Offaly continue their Very Ireland Division 2A camogie league campaign when they host Meath in Glenisk O'Connor Park Tullamore at 12pm tomorrow (Saturday).
The inaugural occasion in which this team will play in the county grounds, David Sullivan's charges will be hoping to continue their impressive league form as they seek their third successive win.
Having defeated Derry this past weekend confidence will be high but Sullivan will be hoping for further improvements as a team collective against Meath.
Aside from the positive of winning his first two matches, the Offaly manager will have been pleased with the range of scorers in both games, with seven players hitting the target against Kerry and six against Derry last weekend.
With his team performing well in both games Sullivan has also had the benefit of giving his substitutes plenty of game time which should stand them in great stead as the year progresses.
Meath have had a mixed start to their campaign. They brushed aside the Armagh challenge in their opening match but lost out to Kerry last weekend so no doubt the Royal women will be looking to get back to winning ways against Offaly.
The last times the teams met was in the quarter finals of the Intermediate Championship last summer in Semple Stadium. On that occasion Offaly proved to be far too strong for Meath and blitzed them by hitting 5-18 to Meath's 3-6. It's unlikely this weekend's game will see that type of a scoreline but it's all to play for between two teams that will be hoping for a big year in 2025.
