Tullamore Camera Club announce award winners at monthly meeting
An evening of recognition was the order of ceremonies at the February meeting of the Tullamore Camera Club.
During the meeting, the club announced the prestigious photographer of the year accolade.
With fourteen members in contention, the honour was awarded to Michelle Kirwan for her fantastic black and white portrait of her daughter.
Marie Kearns claimed the runner-up award and she was presented with the club shield in recognition of her striking image of the standing oaks in Lough Boora during the Aurora.
The club also held their monthly competition with an open theme. The winner on the night was Marie Kearns with her shot of a blue tit perched during the snow earlier in the year.
Seán McKenna's dramatic capture of the Samuel Beckett bridge in Dublin gained him second place.
Guest judge, retired wedding photographer Michael McGrath, chose Charlene McKenna's ethereal photograph of a snowdrop as his preferred choice.
Tullamore Camera Club will host their next meeting on Thursday, March 27, in Offaly History Centre at 8pm. New members always welcome, no experience required.
