Past pupil inspires Tullamore College students with culinary skills

Tullamore College was delighted to welcome past pupil Molly Rose Maher back to the classroom for a special cookery demonstration with Ms. Graham’s Home Economics class.

Molly, who is now a Dessert and Pastry Chef at the prestigious Ballynahinch Castle in Co. Galway, shared her expertise to help students prepare for their Junior Cycle Culinary Skills Practical in April.

Chef at Ballinahinch Castle Hotel in Galway, Molly Rose Maher, was the recipient of a bouquet of flowers on her recent visit to her former secondary school, Tullamore College, where she gave a special cookery demonstration.

She treated the class to a step-by-step demonstration of two delicious desserts—sticky toffee pudding with caramel sauce and an iced buttercream chocolate cake—offering valuable tips on technique, presentation, and food styling.

Students were also inspired by Molly’s creative plating skills, as she showcased some of her recent work in the professional kitchen.

The staff and students of Tullamore College extend a huge thank you to Molly for sharing her time and skills, and are eagerly looking forward to seeing where her culinary journey takes her next.
