Coláiste Naomh Cormac students learn CPR skills

This February, every student at Coláiste Naomh Cormac participated in the CPR4Schools programme, a heartening initiative delivered in partnership with the Irish Heart Foundation. As part of their Physical Education classes, students across all year groups were trained in CPR, equipping them with life-saving skills that could make all the difference in an emergency.

The CPR4Schools programme is designed to raise awareness about heart health and to ensure that young people are prepared to respond confidently and effectively in situations where someone is in need of urgent medical assistance. The training covered essential techniques such as chest compressions, the importance of calling emergency services, and the proper use of an AED.

By the end of the month, every student had not only gained a deeper understanding of the importance of cardiovascular health but also learned how to act swiftly and effectively in a cardiac emergency. The programme fosters a sense of responsibility and community, empowering our students to take action if ever faced with a situation where they can help save a life.

Coláiste Naomh Cormac thanked the Irish Heart Foundation for their commitment to providing this vital training to young people across Ireland.

The school said it was proud of all its students for embracing this opportunity and learning these important life skills that will serve them—and those around them—well in the future
