Offaly Down Syndrome Association receives major donation from Ballycumber pub
The Offaly Down Syndrome Association has expressed its gratitude to The Gav Inn, Ballycumber, for their incredible fundraising efforts, which resulted in a generous donation of €21,000. This remarkable sum was raised through their Shave or Wax Fundraiser last year and was officially presented to member, Paul Gavin from Ballycumber, on Saturday, February 22.
Paul is the son of the owners of The Gav Inn, and was instrumental in helping organise the fundraiser. Many people in Paul’s life including friends and family volunteered and raised the remarkable sum.
The overwhelming support from The Gav Inn and the local community will have a lasting impact, helping to fund essential programs, therapies, and initiatives that support individuals with Down syndrome and their families across Offaly.
“We are deeply grateful to The Gav Inn and everyone who participated in the fundraiser,” said Robbie Donnelly, Branch Administrator of Offaly Down Syndrome Association. “Their kindness and generosity make a real difference in the lives of our members, providing vital resources that promote independence, inclusion, and well-being.”
The Shave or Wax Fundraiser was a fantastic community event that not only raised much-needed funds but also brought people together in a spirit of fun and solidarity. Offaly Down Syndrome Association extends a heartfelt thank you to everyone who took part—whether by braving the shave, getting waxed, donating, or showing their support.
