PHOTOS: Tullamore Tidy Towns volunteers carry out successful Saturday clean-up
Tullamore Tidy Towns has expressed its appreciation for its "great team of volunteers" who carried out a successful litter picking initiative on Saturday morning last.
The area covered spanned the Grand Canal from Fiona's Way to Cox's Bridge, Arden Road to the bypass, Kilcruttin Wetlands, and Tullamore Harbour.
In a social media post, Tullamore Tidy Towns said a large volume of waste was cleared on the day.
"The 'collection' included over 32 bags, traffic cones, a child's bicycle, tyre, the obligatory shopping trolley, drums, a pair of black runners, buckets, bottles of designer aftershave, and a fiver," it said.
"Also, a start was made at removing graffiti on some of the bins and pruning/prepping the beds for the season ahead.
"To all our Tidy Town volunteers - old and new - and those who did their own clean-ups on their streets, roads and estates across Tullamore - thanks very much," said the group.
