Budding entrepreneurs savouring fishing tackle company success

An immense passion for fishing has materialised into an enterprise for Tullamore College TY students Jack Keenahan and partner Nikita Greidans.

Under the branding Blackwood Bait & Tackle, the 2024-established fishing tackle company continues to evolve, the products produced appeasing both the predator and coarse fishing markets.

Such is the success of the business at present, the pair intend to update their website in due course, the production of soft plastic lures soon to feature in their product pipeline.

The business has gained recognition within an education setting, with the fishing company selected as an entry in the senior category of the Local Enterprise Office student enterprise finals.

As the enterprise continues to flourish, the pair will host a coarse fishing competition, at which €1,000 worth of fishing gear will be on offer to participants, in support of Blackwood Bait & Tackle.

The competition will take place at the Southern County Fishing Resort in Carlow on Sunday, March 2.
