Aura pool set to re-open later this month
Tullamore's Aura Leisure Centre has announced its intention to resume all swim lessons and pool activities later this month.
The move follows the securing of a contractor to carry out repairs to the roof of the pool hall which was badly damaged during the recent Storm Éowyn. It is understood that six skylights on the roof of the pool hall were completely ripped off during the storm forcing the closure of the pool and the suspension of all water-based activities at the popular leisure centre.
In a post on their Facebook page last week, the management of Aura Leisure Centre said they have secured contractors to carry out the necessary repairs to the pool roof and are expecting them to be on site this week.
Repair works are expected to be completed by the end of this week. "Then, allowing time to get our pool temperature back up to where it needs to be, our pool should be open again week commencing 17th February which is when all pool activities including swim lessons can re-commence" said the post.
Further updates on the progress of the repairs works will be posted on the Aura Facebook page here and all those who have swimming lessons booked at the leisure centre have been informed by email of the latest developments.
