Uisce Éireann 'working to restore water supplies to Rhode'
Uisce Éireann said its crews are on the ground in Offaly working to restore water supplies to Rhode.
It said that, following Storm Éowyn, a technical issue had arisen at Toberdaly Water Treatment Plant, resulting in customers in Rhode experiencing no water or very low pressure.
Uisce Éireann said expert crews have been deployed to the area and it is expected that works will be completed by 5pm today (Monday).
Alternative water supplies are available at both Marrion Terrace and Hillside Estate.
Uisce Éireann’s James Joyce said: "Uisce Éireann is working to fix the issue at the plant as quickly and as safely as possible. Once power is returned it may take some time for normal water supply to be restored."
The Uisce Éireann customer care helpline is open 24/7 on 1800 278 278.
Uisce Éireann has also launched a free text service, providing real-time updates for local issues. Customers can sign up with their Eircode and mobile number at www.water.ie
