Some 11,000 homes and businesses without power in Offaly
Some 11,000 homes, businesses and farms in Offaly remain without power this evening, Friday.
Storm Éowyn has passed through the region, leaving significant damage, and causing major disruption.
The biggest legacy of the storm is power outages across the region - with Clara, and parts of Edenderry and Tullamore worst hit.
Other areas of the county impacted by the power outages include Birr, Kinnitty and Daingean.
ESB Networks has said that it could take over a week to get every area back on the grid, stating that the damage caused by the storm is "unprecedented". However, remote rural areas are likely to be those waiting the longest.
