Storm Eowyn: Supermarket closures and re-opening hours
With what could be one of the most severe storms to land on Irish shores set to arrive in the early hours of tomorrow (Friday) morning, supermarkets have been prompted to close their doors.
In Westmeath, Offaly, and Roscommon, a red warning for extreme winds is in place from 6am to 11am.
As locals prepare to batten down the hatches - supermarket chains Dunnes Stores, Tesco, Supervalu, Aldi, Lidl, and Centra have all taken the initiative to announce their closure plans.
Centra
Centra reassures customers that there is no shortage of goods, as they remain fully stocked ahead of Storm Eowyn.
Aldi
Aldi intends to remain closed during the red weather warning, with plans to reopen "when it is deemed safe to do so".
Tesco
Tesco stores will be closed tomorrow morning, with plans to reopen at 12pm.
Supervalu
Supervalu will be closed tomorrow until it is "safe to do so".
Dunnes Stores
Dunnes Stores will be closed until 11am, or until the red alert is lifted.
Lidl
As for Lidl, they plan to remain closed until one hour after the red alert is lifted.
In Midlands regions, the red warning is expected to be lifted at 11am, meaning the stores can reopen for 12 noon.
