Offaly event to mark International Women's Day

A survivor of domestic abuse from Wexford who has turned her life around and is now happily married with her own family is the keynote speaker at a special event being hosted by the Offaly Domestic Violence Support Service (ODVSS) to mark International Women's Day on March 7 next.

Trisha Rooney, whose ex-partner was convicted at Wexford District Court in December 2022 for assaulting her in October 2020, is an outspoken advocate for victims of domestic abuse and will tell her powerful story of survival at the ODVSS women's brunch in the Bridge House Hotel on March 7 next.

The annual International Women's Day brunch hosted by the Offaly domestic violence support organisation will take place from 12.45pm to 2pm in the Bridge House Hotel.
