Tullamore's Gráinne Walsh

Offaly's Gráinne to MC 'Fuelling Success' sports nutrition event

Offaly boxer Gráinne Walsh will be sharing her thoughts on nutrition for female sportspeople at an event in Dublin later this month.

The Tullamore woman, who represented Ireland at last summer's Paris Olympics, has been announced by the Irish Athletic Boxing Association as the MC for the event, entitled 'Fuelling Success'.

It will be held in the National Stadium on Sunday, January 26, from 2.30pm to 4.30pm.

Gráinne will be leading a panel discussion involving Paris Olympians, who will be discussing how they make weight and manage eating for performance, and how this has evolved for them throughout their careers.

The panel will be followed by a presentation on key nutrition points by Dr. Sharon Madigan, Head of Performance Nutrition at Sport Ireland Institute.

Gráinne Walsh's involvement in this event follows on from her participation in the Sport Ireland’s 'Body Composition: More than a Number Campaign', which you can watch here:
