Recycle your (real) Christmas tree for free in Offaly
With the Christmas festivities over for another year, Offaly County Council has issued a reminder that real Christmas trees can be recycled for free until the end of January at their three Civic Amenity sites across the county, in Tullamore, Birr and Edenderry.
All lights and decorations must be removed from trees, and the free recycling facility is available until close of business on Friday, January 31.
Details of the three Offaly sites accepting real Christmas trees (NOT artificial), including location and opening times, are as follows:
Derryclure Civic Amenity Site: The recycling centre is located beside Derryclure Waste & Recycling Facility site on the Killeigh road from Tullamore. Phone: 057 9344186.
Opening hours: Monday – Friday 8am to 4.30pm (closes at 4pm November to January). Saturday opening hours are 8am to 3pm.
Birr Civic Amenity Site: The site is located in the Syngefield Industrial Estate, Kinnitty Road, Birr. Phone: 057 9125905.
Opening Hours: Monday to Saturday 9am to 5pm. (Last car strictly at 4.50pm).
Closed on Sundays and Bank Holidays.
Edenderry Recycling Centre: Located on the Dublin Road in Edenderry. Phone: 046 9772677.
Opening Hours: Monday to Saturday 9am to 5pm (Last car strictly 4.50pm). The site is closed on Sundays and Bank Holidays
