Offaly projects receive awards at BT Young Scientist & Technology exhibition

An Offaly project was among those highly commended in the BT Young Scientist & Technology Exhibition last week.

Tullamore College students Ryan Plunkett and Cillian Farrell were recognised for their project 'Green Sheets: Sustainable Paper from Grass' in the Intermediate Group section of the Biological & Ecological category.

Two other Offaly projects won display awards, in recognition of the display quality of their exhibit.

These winners were Andrea Mecionyte from Tullamore College for the project 'Little Steps: Understanding height and growth differences' in the Intermediate Individual section of the Social & Behavioural Science category and St Brendan's Community School, Birr, trio André Mulcahy Viegas, Alex Loughnane and Alfie McGrath for their project 'Chicken Talk' in the Intermediate Group section of the Biological & Ecological category.
