Orange warning extended in Offaly

The orange weather warning in place in Offaly for snow and ice today has been extended.

The warning had been in place from 5pm, yesterday (Saturday) to 5pm today (Sunday), but has now been extended to 8pm.

Met Éireann is warning of further falls of sleet and snow leading to significant accumulations.

It is also advising of expected very difficult travelling conditions, poor visibility, travel disruption delays to public transport likely (air, rail, bus), difficult conditions underfoot and animal welfare issues

The warning covers Carlow, Clare, Cork, Kerry, Kilkenny, Laois, Limerick, Offaly, Tipperary, Waterford, and Wicklow.
