Shane Lowry sings with 'hero' Christy Moore

Shane Lowry ended 2024 on a high note when he had a chance to meet and sing with one of his heroes, Christy Moore.

On the social media platform X (formerly Twitter) the Clara star posted a video of himself sitting on a couch next to the folk music legend as they performed an informal duet of Christy's song My Little Honda 50.

Lowry shared the video yesterday (Monday), ahead of a Christy Moore gig in Dublin's Vicar Street that night.

Along with the clip, the golfer wrote: "They say you shouldn’t meet your heroes but how wrong they were with this one. Christy Moore, you really are one of the greats."

As their impromptu duet on My Little Honda 50 drew to a close, Christy Moore asked the Offaly man, "Will you bring me out on the tour?"

"I'll bring you anywhere you want to go," smiled Lowry.

"I'll carry your tee for you," promised Moore, to laughter.

Shane Lowry recently confirmed that he will be taking part in next September's Irish Open at the K Club, saying the tournament is the "first event on my schedule every year".
