Tullamore councillor provides gifts for struggling families

Tullamore councillor Aoife Masterson is providing a small selection of toys for struggling families at her constituency office in Kilbride Plaza.

The Sinn Fein politician said: "I opened my office so that people in the community would have somewhere warm and inviting to come for advice, information, and support.

"There are a lot of people who will struggle this Christmas."

Masterson will have a small selectin of toys under the Christmas tree in her office, encouraging those in the community who need support to pay the office a visit.

"Any parent who needs something to put under the tree this year is welcome to pop in and take one, no question or explanations," she said.

The Offaly County Councillor has also set up a GoFundMe page, so that people who are in a more fortunate position can donate for presents.

So far, the fundraiser has received €200 in donations.
