Festive Family Time events at Offaly libraries
Family Time at Your Library returns to Offaly Libraries for another year this Christmas, with a variety of wide variety of Christmas storytime events planned in all branches throughout the month of December.
There will also be festive crafts, board game activities, live choral performances from local choir groups, movie nights and much more.
In partnership with Creative Ireland, this seasonal Right To Read initiative aims to bring families together in libraries across the county whilst increasing awareness around the wonderful benefits of reading.
At Ferbane Library, there will be Christmas activities for all the family, including Family Jigsaw Fun and an Intergenerational Star Craft Workshop.
Tullamore Library will be hosting a Christmas Fighting Words Creative Writing Workshop, where children can write their own Christmas story and publish it on the Fighting Words website. Plus, it will have a Christmas Photo Booth throughout the month of December for families to take a festive family pic.
Kilcormac and Banagher Libraries are hosting Santa Letter Writing Workshops and Christmas Story times, while Clara Library is running special workshops where children can create their own Christmas village.
At Daingean Library, there will be a Robotics Snowball Challenge, and the week before Christmas the library will also host a special Winter Wonderland Family Day.
All are welcome to Edenderry Library on December 11 for a live performance from Oaklands Community School Choir.
Meanwhile, staff at Birr Library will be inviting young children to bring their teddies along to the library for a special Teddy Sleepover Storytime on the evening of Wednesday, December 11. They will also be helping children get crafty with festive inspired creations at Festive Crafty Fridays, every Friday at 15:30.
Remember, for some events booking is essential, so make sure to contact your library for more details.
