Crinkill Tidy Towns raises funds to light up Christmas

Crinkill Tidy Towns have been raising funds to light up their village for the festive season.

The village has raised over €1,180 from the local community as they aim to brighten up their local area for the festive season.

"Every year, the Christmas lights in Crinkill are a fantastic addition to our beautiful village," said Celine Cooke, Crinkill Tidy Villages secretary. "This year we have had to replace a lot of lights which comes at a great expense.

"Now all the lights have been put up, and we've spent over €2,500 for all the new lights."

Donations have been flying in since the fundraiser first opened almost 3 weeks ago - and the village is already glowing as a result.

"We're very grateful. It's been absolutely fantastic. The residents also provide the electricity for the lights, and Grant Heating on the other end of the village."

Crinkill will also host a fully indoor Christmas Market which will take place in Crinkle Sports & Recreation Centre on Sunday December 8 from 12pm to 5pm.

Over 25 stalls will be featured in the market, with a huge variety of arts, crafts, Christmas decor and foods. Santa will be there as well to spread the Christmas joy from 3pm to 5pm. All the money raised at the Christmas Market will go towards funding the Christmas lights.
