Offaly's Tolü Makay 'first ever' to play new Esker Arts gallery space

Offaly singer Tolü Makay will be the first ever artist to put on a performance in the new Esker Arts gallery space in Tullamore.

The star will play two nights in Tullamore on Thursday, November 28, and Friday, November 29. The show start at 8pm each night.

Tolü grew up in Tullamore, where her family is based, and gained attention in recent years as a result of her remarkable vocal talent.

She shot to national prominence with her magnificent cover of The Saw Doctors hit, N17, which she performed with the RTE Concert Orchestra on New Year’s Eve 2020, and since then her vocal talents have been in huge demand both nationally and even internationally.

Her career has gone from strength to strength since she first emerged onto the Irish music scene and she was named in the Irish Times list of 50 people to watch out for in 2022.

Speaking ahead of her gig in Esker Arts, she said: "The intimate, acoustic set will be a special opportunity to thank my community by sharing new, unreleased music."

Join her for an evening of connection, reflection, and soulful sounds in the beautiful gallery space and to celebrate her next single release, titled My Eyes are Open.

Tickets are priced at €20 (plus booking fee), and can be purchased on the Esker Arts Website at https://eskerarts.ie/events/tolu-makay
