Killeigh native’s wooden reindeer dash into two major retailers

Killeigh native Anthony Gorman's festive wooden reindeer decorations are being sold in two major retailers this year.
The reindeer have dashed their way into both Lidl and Dunnes Stores locations nationwide.
“I'm delighted. It's hard to believe that two of the biggest retailers in Ireland are supporting my business. To have Lidl reach out this year was amazing!”
Anthony, his family, and his team of four employees have been working on this year batch of wooden reindeer decorations since August.
It is expected that over 15,000 of the adorable wooden Christmas figures will be sold across the country this year.
“I had no idea it would go so far,” Anthony said. “I never expected to sell the reindeer outside of my school or my family.”
Sharing how the magic of the festive season caused his business idea to flourish, the now 19-year-old said: “I came up with the idea in 2019. I was in third year, and I had to come up with a CBA project for my Business Studies class.
“I brought a reindeer into school, and one of the teachers brought it into the staff room. It just took off from there.”
