Midlands wins Age Friendly Communications Award

The HSE Living Well at Home Group established under the HSE Integrated Care Programme for Older Persons (ICPOP) has won the 2024 Age Friendly Communication Award (sponsored by An Post).

The development of the Directory of Supports and Services for Older People inh the Midlands region necessitated consultation with HSE service providers, local authorities, voluntary and community groups and older persons. Older people representatives informed the content and design of the directory.

The project was led by Dr Mary Doolan (ICPOP lead), Amanda Caulfield (Health and Wellbeing), and Mari Fitzgerald (Patient and Service User Engagement).

The directory signposts opportunities for supports, resources and ways to form better social connections.

Commenting on the awards, Ita Healy, Chair of the national Network of Older People’s council said "this annual celebration of projects really personifies what it means to be age friendly. The calibre of projects across the country is a true testament to how Ireland is embracing the Age Friendly Ireland vision."
