O'Brien pledges support to Fianna Fail's Tony McCormack
Independent Councillor, Sean O' Brien, has pledged his support for local Fianna Fail Cllr, Tony McCormack in the upcoming General Election as he bids to take a Dail seat in Offaly.
"Tullamore needs a TD and we have a great chance to get one with Tony McCormack as a candidate for the election on November 29" said the veteran Independent Cllr. He claimed that the town needs "a lot of investment" and is "falling behind" other large towns across the Midlands due to the absence of a local TD.
"£We are the capital town in Offaly and it would be fitting that this area has it's own TD who can lead the drive for more investment and Government funds to develop all the services in the area" said Cllr O' Brien.
Having been re-elected as a Cllr for the Tullamore Electoral Area at the recent local elections, Sean O'Brien said that being able to work alongside a local TD would assist him in securing "more housing, better services, more jobs, footpath and road repairs, health services, education services, the N52 By Pass, better train services and much more."
" I am asking all of my supporters to consider giving their No.1 vote to Tony McCormack on November 29. This is a real chance for this area to have its own full time TD and directly help Tullamore and Offaly to get its rightful share of Government and private investment" concluded Cllr O' Brien.
