€1,000 prize fund in Clara Christmas lights draw

Clara Christmas Lights committee are getting ready to light up the town again this year and are encouraging everyone to buy local wherever possible and support local businesses in the town.

In recent years the Clara Christmas Lights held a door-to-door collection to raise funds to support the running and maintenance costs of the lights, and this year they are going one step further with the launch of a Grand Raffle to meet the costs of the annual Christmas lights.

The exciting raffle is offering €1,000 in prize money and the owner of the winning ticket will be invited to hit the big switch to turn the lights on in early December (date to be confirmed).

There are just 1,500 tickets available for this draw, and the winning prizes are as follows:

· 1st Prize: €500 and be the person to switch on the lights

· 2nd Prize €100

· 3rd Prize €100

· 4th Prize €100

· 5th, 6th, 7th and 8th Prize €50 each.

Tickets, which are priced at €5 each, can be purchased from the following committee members: Frances Doyle, Joyce Lowry, Michelle Quinn and Maura Naughtonor on the special iDonate platform: https://www.idonate.ie/raffle/ClaraChristmasLightsGRANDRAFFLE2024 .

Tickets are also available from members who in the past supported the committee with the door-to-door collection. Anyone who is approached to purchase a ticket and has any concerns is asked to please contact a member of the committee to verify the ticket sellers.

The team who put up and take down the lights will be out and about in the coming weeks and the community of Clara is asked to please keep an eye out for them and be patient. The entire team is made up of volunteers who give of their time and talents on cool winter evenings to light up Clara for the festive season.

With tickets selling fast, (almost 500 sold already) locals are advised to purchase their tickets as soon as possible to be in with a chance to win some of the fantastic prizes on offer.
