Rear light problem leads Tullamore Gardai to underage driver

A malfunctioning rear light recently attracted Tullamore Gardai to a far more serious issue with the driver of the car.

An Garda Siochána Laois/Offaly released a post on Facebook on Saturday, October 19, detailing how they recently "stopped a vehicle when attention was drawn to it for having no rear light".

"When checked on the Garda mobility device, the car was discovered to have been out of road tax for 141 days.

"On speaking to the driver, it transpired that they were only 16 years old with no driving licence or insurance.

"The vehicle has been seized under Section 41 with proceedings commenced."
