Tullamore Youth Centre honours Sr Genevieve and Sr Ann

St Mary’s Youth & Community Centre in Tullamore have honoured Sr Genevieve Hassey and Sr Ann O'Neill for their years of dedicated service.

The centre presented Sr Genevieve Hassey and Sr Ann O'Neill with two beautiful mosaic artworks to mark the momentous occasion.

The pieces, stunning portraits of St Ann and St Genevieve, were handcrafted by Anna Gorbenko, a Ukrainian artist working at the centre through the Tús scheme.

The presentation, made on behalf of the youth club members, was a heartfelt tribute to Sr Genevieve and Sr Ann, who have given so much of their time and care to the young people in the community.

Sr Genevieve had been the face of the youth centre since she came on board with Sr Xaviour in Scoil Mhuire to produce the annual show.

Fondly know as Genny, she has spent many years promoting youth affairs both nationally and internationally.

Sr Ann has been a part of the centre for many years and a great supporter of youth of Tullamore. Her dedication to the Board of Management is noted as one of the main reasons for the centre's success.

St Mary's Youth & Community Centre manager Stephen Lawlor said: "Both ladies retired from our board of management in November 2023, but their legacy of support and inspiration will continue to be felt by all.

"We are deeply grateful for their contributions and wish them all the best in their future."
