Linda Cooper completes her 50th parkrun

Significant milestones at Mountlucas parkrun

Linda Cooper recently completed her 50th parkrun at Mountlucas parkrun. Linda completed the majority of her 50 parkruns at Mountlucas parkrun. A huge well done to Linda on this milestone achievement.

Mountlucas parkrun was recently attended by a number of members of Ballyroan Abbyleix and District Athletics Club.

One of the club members, Kate McDonald, matched the female course record for Mountlucas parkrun. She completed the 5km route in a time of 18 minutes 55 seconds. Previous female course record holders include Pauline Curley, former Olympian and member of Tullamore Harriers Athletics Club, and Aisling O'Connor from Edenderry Athletics Club.

There were a number of "personal bests" on the day, where regular parkrunners completed the course in their fastest ever time. Of note here was Pearl Scally, a regular of Mountlucas parkrun, who completed the course in a new personal best time of 28 minutes and 11 seconds.

Parkrun is a free, weekly, 5km timed event at a number of locations across Ireland including Mountlucas windfarm in Co Offaly. It takes place every Saturday at 9.30am sharp. Both walkers and runners are welcomed to the parkrun and there is always a good mix of walkers and runners at Mountlucas parkrun. For more information see parkrun.ie/mountlucas
