Man arrested in probe into attempted bribery of League of Ireland player

A man has been arrested as part of an investigation into the attempted bribery of a player in the League of Ireland this season.

The man aged in his 30s was arrested on Tuesday.

He was held in a Garda station in the west of the country. He has since been released without charge, with a file being prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.
