Offaly's Rose is national brown bread baking champion!

Offaly native Rose Egan has come out on top as the national brown bread baking champion.

The final was held today (Thursday) in the National Brown Bread Baking Competition tent at the National Ploughing Championships in Ratheniska, County Laois.

Rose stepped up to the challenge and emerged victorious, commended by the judges for her brown bread’s traditional appearance and perfect texture.

Speaking about her win, Rose said: “I’m over the moon to have won! This competition has been an incredible experience from start to finish, and I’m so grateful to Euronics, the NPA and the ICA for making it possible”.

As the overall winner, Rose will take home a cash prize of €5,000 and a NEFF oven.

The three finalists Martin Malone from Castleknock, Co. Dublin, Noreen Collins from Clonakilty, Co. Cork and Mary Rose Power from Kentstown, Co. Meath all walk away with a €500 Euronics gift card.
