Coldplay tickets raffle raises almost €20,000 for Offaly charity
A raffle for a pair of Coldplay tickets has raised close to €20,000 for the Dóchas Offaly Cancer Support Group.
The raffle was conducted live in the charity's centre on Tuesday last, August 27, and posted on its social media platforms.
The set of two tickets was generously donated to the charity by the Glavin Family from Tullamore, resulting in a sum of €19,330 being raised.
The winner of the tickets was Adrian Kinsella who attended the opening night of Coldplay's four-night sold out run of Croke Park gigs last night (Thursday).
Speaking on behalf of the charity, Dóchas Offaly chairperson, Dermot Murphy, said: "This funding will go towards providing vital psycho-social supports to people with a cancer diagnosis, their family, friends and carers and to those bereaved from cancer."
The charity extended their sincere appreciation to the Glavin Family for undertaking this phenomenal fundraiser on their behalf, and thanked each and every person who supported this initiative in their droves.
Dochas Offaly was delighted to welcome the Glavin Family into the centre for the formal presentation of the proceeds on Tuesday, following the draw formally closing and taking place.
